Functional workplace lighting meets generous room illumination
In August 2017, the City Library in Ludwigshafen was reopened.
During the reconstruction and renovation, the focus was on providing handicap accessibility, improved circulation, spatial expansion, a contemporary ambience, and energy related upgrades.
On all floors, the quality of the environment in the modernized building was substantially increased, allowing the library to function now as a meeting place for people of all ages and cultures. A reading café on the ground floor, comfortable sitting areas, and functional work stations for single and group work invite visitors to stay, read, and learn.
Work stations with a variety of views are found in the main room along the gallery and directly behind the glass facade. mawa’s table lamps elle provide appropriate lighting in a minimalist way. Along the facade, built-in seventies spotlights provide additional general lighting. The op8 ceiling uplights along the gallery emphasize the height of the room, thus making the new generous spaciousness especially perceptible.
